Having a blast on a hovercraft

Looking for something a little different for the summer school holidays? Well, hovercraft racing is a unique form of motorsport. No wheels, just a cushion of air to float around on.

Steering around corners is the biggest challenge as Mike Bushell and his cameraman Simon Monk found out.

There are several hovercraft experience centres around the UK, plus regular race meetings organised by the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain. The World championships are in Sweden in August.
