More time to quiz terror suspect

Andrew Ibrahim
Police have been granted a further seven days to question Mr Ibrahim

Police have been given an extra seven days to question a 19-year-old man arrested under the Terrorism Act.

Andrew Ibrahim, 19, from Westbury-on-Trym in Bristol, was arrested on 18 April by Avon and Somerset Police.

Officers now have until 1 May to question him. It is the second time his detention has been extended by a week.

Three controlled explosions were carried out Mr Ibrahim's flat and dozens of neighbours were evacuated.

Mr Ibrahim, who moved to the area three weeks ago, is understood to have recently converted to Islam.

He was arrested after covert inquiries prompted by an intelligence tip-off.
