Naomi Campbell was removed from a BA plane at Heathrow by police

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been held at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

A police spokesman said: "At 1711 police were called after a disturbance at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.

"A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and is currently in detention at Heathrow police station," he added.

A BAA spokeswoman at Heathrow Airport said: "Police today boarded a British Airways plane and removed a passenger."
