Police were called to the house on Tuesday
The mother of a three-year-old girl who died from a suspected drugs overdose has been charged with murder.

Natalia Mujahid died three days ago in the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendelbury.

She had been taken there from their Blackburn home by ambulance with her baby brother, Darnish, who remains gravely ill.

Their 24-year-old mother, Taj Ali, has now been charged with his murder and also with the attempted murder of 12-month-old Darnish.

The children's father, 27-year-old Asad Mujahid, has been charged with the manslaughter of Natalia and with neglecting his son.

The parents are scheduled to appear before Blackburn magistrates on Saturday.

Toxicology tests are under way to find out if, as police suspect, Natalia died from ingesting the heroin substitute methadone.
