A man has been jailed for six years and nine months after pleading guilty to a charge linked to the failed London bomb attacks of 21 July 2005.

Adel Yahya, 25, from Tottenham, north London, admitted collecting information useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

The charge related to buying hydrogen peroxide to produce explosives.

He had been on trial for conspiracy to murder, but the jury at Woolwich Crown Court could not reach a verdict.

Underground attacks

In July, four other men were jailed for life at Woolwich Crown Court, London, over the failed attacks.

Muktar Said Ibrahim, Yassin Omar, Ramzi Mohammed and Hussain Osman were told that they will all serve at least 40 years in prison for conspiracy to murder.

The attacks occurred on Underground trains at Shepherd's Bush station, Oval station, Warren Street station and on a bus in Hackney Road, Shoreditch.

A sixth man - Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 34, of no fixed address - has also been charged in connection with the case.

He is due to go on trial next Monday at Kingston Crown Court where he will face a single charge of conspiracy to murder.
