Mobile phone footage of a young soldier allegedly being sexually assaulted at an army barracks is being investigated by the Royal Military Police.
They launched an inquiry following a complaint made by a parent of a recruit at the Catterick training base in North Yorkshire.
But the alleged victim has refused to file an official complaint.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed an inquiry had begun but refused to comment on the allegations.
A spokesman said: "An alleged incident recorded on a mobile phone is being investigated by the Royal Military Police.
"We are not prepared to comment on the allegations."
