The case of award-winning comedy actor Chris Langham, charged with 15 counts of making indecent images of children, has been adjourned for a second time.

The 57-year-old from Cranbrook in Kent, who won a Bafta award last month, did not attend the brief hearing before Sevenoaks magistrates.

The case was adjourned until July 26 at the same court.

Married Mr Langham, who was charged in May after answering bail, had his unconditional bail extended.

He won his Bafta for his performance in the BBC political satire The Thick of It, scooping the Best Comedy Performance award for his portrayal of bungling Government minister Hugh Abbott.

Last year he won Best Television Comedy Actor at the British Comedy Awards for the same role.

He was originally arrested by Kent Police last December and released on bail.

Mr Langham has often appeared on BBC television shows, including his spoof documentary series, People Like Us, which transferred to the small screen from Radio 4.

He has previously been honoured at the British Comedy Awards and the Sony Radio Awards, and by the Writers' Guild of America for co-writing The Muppet Show from 1977 to 1980.

Mr Langham has also written for Not The Nine O'Clock News, Murder Most Horrid and Spike Milligan's Q series.
