The official logo intended to protect the name and memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, from exploitation has been unveiled.
The trustees of the Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Fund, the Spencer family and princes William and Harry have approved the design.
The logo consists of Diana's signature reproduced in purple, one of her favourite colours, above the fund title.
The trustees said they wanted a design that would reflect the nature of the fund, set up "as a spontaneous memorial to Diana".
Companies cashing in
The design will serve both to identify the fund and as a "hallmark" to indicate a particular project has the approval of trustees.
Within days of Diana's death last August a £1m industry grew in unauthorised memorabilia. T-shirts, plates, mugs, dolls, cards and calendars went on sale embossed with the name of the princess.
Many companies have refused to give any of their revenue to the memorial fund, which raises money for charities and causes favoured by the Princess.
