An official photograph of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall has been released to mark the couple's first wedding anniversary.

The image, one of five captured by Mario Testino, shows Prince Charles and Camilla in the garden of Clarence House, their London residence.

The other pictures will be published in the May issue of British Vogue.

The couple are spending their first anniversary at Birkhall, on Balmoral Estate, where they honeymooned.

They attended a church service at nearby Crathie Parish Church on Sunday morning.

After the 45-minute service the couple posed for photographs outside the church, and Camilla was presented with a bouquet of yellow roses by six-year-old Heather Stewart from Glasgow.

The girl's mother, Fiona, said: "They said they were surprised about the amount of snow up here - Charles joked that there was almost as much here as in Switzerland, where he has just been skiing."

She added: "It was lovely to see them."

Birkhall, a 14-bedroom hunting lodge, was bequeathed to the prince by the Queen Mother.

The royal couple are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay when in Scotland.

Mario Testino has taken photographs of the prince and his sons William and Harry on several occasions and was Diana, Princess of Wales' favourite photographer.

The newly released image shows the Prince of Wales looking tanned and happy next to his smiling wife, around whom his arm is wrapped.

The Duchess of Cornwall is shown wearing a cornflower blue silk outfit by Robinson Valentine and pearl drop earrings.

Meanwhile, in harmony with his wife's choice of colour, Charles has a cornflower in his lapel, which was picked from his gardens at Highgrove.

The prince is dressed in a dark Turnbull and Asser suit with a patterned handkerchief in his pocket and is wearing a striped Royal Naval Air Service tie.

The other photographs of the royal couple were taken inside Clarence House and in its garden.
