Navy disciplines "skinny dippers"
HMS Liverpool
The officers had a swim before returning to their destroyer
A group of Royal Navy officers have been punished for "skinny dipping" in the Caribbean, it has been confirmed.

The Ministry of Defence said the men and one woman were from HMS Liverpool, which is helping rebuild the island of Grenada after Hurricane Ivan.

The incident took place after a meal ashore, a spokesman said.

"The woman was wearing a bikini, but it is believed that some of the half a dozen men involved in the incident were naked," he said.

"The captain discovered this had happened, and the officers involved are confined to the ship until 1 June while the ship is in the Caribbean, and their alcohol privilege has been removed."

"This sort of behaviour was considered to be inappropriate, and action was taken to remind individual officers of the high standards expected, especially whilst overseas."
