The release of Lord Turner's long-awaited report on reforms of the pensions system is widely considered in a number of Wednesday's papers.
The Guardian says the Turner report will float the idea that the state pension age should rise to 68 or 69 by the middle of the century.
And the Times states employers would be required to pay 3% of workers' salaries into a new savings plan.
Under the voluntary scheme, employees would pay 4% and the government 1%.
Nuclear power
A review of the country's energy needs results in much coverage of the prospects for nuclear power.
The Financial Times says the prime minister has been advised that he can rush through plans for new nuclear plants without fresh legislation.
And the Daily Mirror says the debate has been delayed for far too long.
The Sun says "yes please" to nuclear power, adding that it would avoid power shortages as renewable energy sources cannot provide enough for our needs.
Taser study
The Daily Telegraph reports what it says are David Cameron's shadow cabinet plans if he is voted Tory leader.
George Osborne would remain shadow chancellor and former leader William Hague would be offered the post of foreign affairs spokesman.
Meanwhile, the Morning Star reports Amnesty International's warning that Taser guns could be potentially lethal and their use is open to abuse.
An Amnesty study in the US found nearly 150 people died after being "tasered".
Gas strike
The plight of British peace campaigner Norman Kember is reported in a number of newspapers.
The Daily Mail's front page story says that his captors' description of the retired professor as an under-cover spy was a cruel travesty of the truth.
Meanwhile, British Gas engineers are taken to task in the Daily Express for planning strike action this winter.
The paper quotes charities as saying many elderly people could be left vulnerable as a result.
