On the day that Tony Blair started his third term in office I believed he should stand down.
I still believe he should do so to allow new blood to prove their worth as a leader before the next election.
This, however, is not the time for him to stand down.
Tony Blair offered a clear choice to the Commons and in the democratic country in which we live, it was put to a vote.
Although he may have lost the 90-day extension vote, the 28-day extension was agreed.
He is as much a strong leader as he was this time last week and will continue to be until there is another strong candidate to take over.

UK VOTERS' PANEL
|
The opposition will always call on Tony Blair to resign at any point they see fit.
It is very interesting to see that all Conservative MPs either voted against or did not vote at all.
At least Labour MPs voted as they saw fit.
Is it really democracy to vote against a prime minister just to watch him fall?
It seems to me nothing more than ballot rigging by the Conservatives.
