More time to quiz terror suspects

Police have been given extra time to question three men suspected of international terrorism, who were held during raids in London and Kent.

One suspect was detained in Shepherd's Bush and another in Chatham, Kent, on Friday night. A third attended a London police station voluntarily on Saturday.

Officers now have until Monday to question the men, who are being held at a central London police station.

The arrests are not connected to the bomb attacks on London in July.

The three men, all aged in their early 20s, are being detained on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000.

The Met Police said addresses in Chatham and Shepherd's Bush, along with a third in the Paddington area of west London, were searched.
