This will be Coco's last Crufts, her handler says
A six-year-old Norfolk terrier has won Best in Show at this year's Crufts, beating nearly 21,500 other dogs.

Champion Cracknor Cause Celebre, or Coco, beat six other group winners at the prestigious show's final.

Other highlights of the event included a rescue dog turned army sniffer dog called Buster, named Hero Dog of the Year for his work in war zones.

The event, now in its 102nd year, was held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Coco, a bitch who had three puppies last July, is owned by Pamela Beale, Stephanie Ingram and Elisabeth Matell, from Ashford in Kent.

She took the title from last year's winner, a whippet bitch called Cobyco Call The Tune, or Deedee, owned by Lynn Yacoby-Wright, of Stockport, Greater Manchester.

As I was born in the UK, I am delighted to come back and make Coco best in show

Coco's handler, Peter Green, who lives in the US, said he was "absolutely delighted".

He added: "Coco was very confident going into the group.

"As I was born in the UK, I am delighted to come back and make Coco best in show, especially as this will be her last event. She has gone out on a real high."

Coco, who also won the terrier class, is said to enjoy hunting mice and small birds in the garden and lounging on the sofa.

The other group winners included a beagle called Harry, a smooth coat Chihuahua called Astro, a Japanese Shiba Inu called Marnie, an English Setter called Rosco, Phil the giant Schnauzer and India, a Belgian Shepherd dog.

Some 120,000 people are estimated to have attended the four-day event, run by the Kennel Club, this year.
