The damaged boat managed to sail to Dover where it docked safely. Twenty four passengers were slightly hurt.

Containers from the Ever Decent toppled onto the deck of the Norwegian Dream when the two vessels hit each other.

Fire broke out on the Ever Decent and salvage tugs tried to douse the flames by spraying water onto the boat.

There is some hazardous cargo on board the container ship but coastguards say there is no major risk of pollution at the moment.
