One man was killed and five people seriously injured during a spate of apparently random knife attacks on Thursday in the Edmonton area of north London.
A lone knifeman is believed to have been responsible, driving around the area in a car before stabbing his victims.
Police say a 30-year-old man has been arrested in the borough of Haringey in connection with the events.
Listed below is a timeline of events so far:
08.20 - police respond to reports of a 31-year-old man being stabbed in Edmonton Green, outside the train station.
08.50 - a second man, aged 49, was found stabbed in Gladstone Ave, Wood Green.
09.07 - a 30-year-old woman in Compton Crescent, Tottenham, discovered with a stab wound. She was transferred to the London Heart Hospital.
09.11 - a third man, aged 50, found stabbed in Ecclesbourne Gardens, Palmers Green.
09.24 - the suspect was detained in Tottenham by unarmed officers. He remains in custody.
09.27 - Ernest Meads, 58, is found in Advent Way, Edmonton, is taken to hospital with stab wounds.
He died on arrival at Whipps Cross hospital in Leytonstone.
10.45 - a 76-year-old man arrived at North Middlesex hospital with stab wounds having been apparently attacked in Empire Avenue.
Three of the male casualties underwent surgery at North Middlesex hospital.
