Wine contamination prompts recall
Wine bottles
Turning Leaf Sauvignon Blanc has been recalled by the winemaker
Thousands of cases of wine have been recalled from off-licences across the UK because of fears there could be particles of glass inside the bottles.

Californian winemaker Ernest and Julio Gallo recalled bottles of its Turning Leaf Sauvignon Blanc after up to 180 bottles were feared to be affected.

A spokeswoman urged anyone who has bought a bottle in the past two days to return it and get a refund.

Around 16,000 bottles with lot numbers L4196, L4197 and L4197A were recalled.

The recall meant all branches of Threshers, Bottoms Up, Wine Rack, Victoria Wine, Hutton's, Haddows and Drinks Cabin stores had to be contacted and ordered to send back the bottles.
