Cardinal Hume funeral
Mourners at Westminster Cathedral have paid their last respects to Cardinal Basil Hume, the leader of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.

The central London cathedral was packed with 2,000 people for a funeral Mass on Friday.


The occasion was one of high ceremony


2,000 people crowded into Westminster Cathedral


Cardinal Hume's coffin is placed in the cathedral


Right Rev John Crowley delivered the homily


The Mass lasted for two-and-a-half hours


Many senior churchmen took part in the service


The Duchess of Kent represented the Royal Family


The Pope's representative, Cardinal Edward Cassidy led the Mass
