The second amount was discovered in a car in the Temple area of Glasgow on Tuesday evening. A 42-year-old man has been arrested. It follows an operation on Monday evening in which Strathclyde officers and the Scottish Crime Squad found more than 105kg of heroin in Glasgow. The drugs were found in the St George's Road, Townhead and Springboig areas of the city, a Strathclyde Police spokesman said.
Speaking after the second seizure, Strathclyde Police Chief Constable John Orr said: "This intensity of activity will continue. "The horrors of drug abuse cannot be overstated and the public can be assured that no effort will be spared in our fight against the dealers." In another operation, more than £100,000 worth of heroin has been found in a house in Paisley. A 31-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man are due to appear in court on Thursday. And in Airdrie, three men aged 17, 27 and 31 are in custody after the discovery of cannabis with a street value of £22,500.
