A family doctor is due in court on Friday charged with 22 offences, following an
investigation into allegations he indecently assaulted patients.
Dr Syed Amjad Husain is accused of indecently assaulting two young girls and a woman in her mid-thirties in three separate incidents at the doctor's consulting room at the Orchard Court surgery, Darlington.
He also faces an indecent assault charge relating to a 74-year-old woman allegedly subjected to a sex attack during a home visit.
Dr Husain, 29, of Darlington, is also facing 18 charges of making indecent images of girls under the
age of 16, of which 16 relate to images on a computer and two to images on a
camcorder.
He was arrested on Wednesday and held for questioning at
Durham City police station.
Dr Husain is due before Peterlee magistrates.
