BEACH: Aberdour Silver Sands, Fife
HOW TO GET THERE: Access from A921 by car/ bus. Ten minute walk from train station.

One of the most popular and attractive resorts on the Fife coast. Excellent setting with views to Islands of the Forth, Inchmickery and Inchcolm. Sandy beach with facilities including: cafe/ restaurant; dog exercise area; pay parking.

BEACH: Burntisland, Fife
HOW TO GET THERE: Access from A921 by car/ bus.Ten minute walk from train station.

Pleasant beach located to east end of Burntisland overlooking Firth of Forth. Sandy beach with rock pools and facilities including: cafe/ restaurant; promenade; free and pay parking; modern leisure centre; seaside park; crazy golf; bouncy castles; picnic tables; summer fairground.

BEACH: Elie Harbour, Fife
HOW TO GET THERE: Access from A917 coastal route by car/ bus. No rail link.

North of the harbour and close to many facilities. Sandy beach with dunes and facilities including: cafe/ restaurant; windsurfing; canoeing; sailing; pier; slipways; dog restrictions; dog exercise area; pay car park.

BEACH: Nairn Central, Highlands
HOW TO GET THERE: Nairn is on the A96 east of Inverness. The beach is approximately half a mile from the train station.

A sandy, accessible beach fringed by dunes with a hinterland of an open, grassy links area. It has beautiful views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle. The coastline is home to a resident school of dolphins. Highland Games take place in a nearby grassy amphitheatre in summer.

BEACH: St Andrews East, Fife
HOW TO GET THERE: From the centre of the town take the Crail Road south. Opposite the St Andrews Memorial Hospital, a road to the left takes you down to the harbour and the beach.

This sheltered sandy cove nestles below the old harbour and there are a variety of water sports available. There are plenty of activities for the children including some fascinating rock pools at the south end of the beach.

BEACH: St Andrews, West Sands, Fife
HOW TO GET THERE: Access from A91 by car. Fifteen minute walk from bus station. No rail link.

Next to the famous golf course and about 15 minutes walk from the town centre. The sandy beach extend for almost 2 miles (3.2km), backed by sand dunes, and with facilities including: cafe; windsurfing; dog restrictions; dog exercise area; pay car park (across road); crazy golf; harbour; campsite.
