Ocalan protest at London embassy

Protesters outside the Greek Embassy

A noisy demonstration is under way at the Greek Embassy in London following reports that officials at the country's embassy in Nairobi have handed over a fugitive Kurdish rebel leader to the Kenyan authorities.

Abdullah Ocalan is wanted by Turkey for leading a separatist campaign in which thousands of people have died.

Scores of police officers are at the scene and there were angry scenes as demonstrators were moved from the front of the embassy. The area has been cordoned off.

Latest reports say 50 protestors have barricaded themselves inside the embassy.

There appear to be around 100 to 200 protestors at the scene, although this figure cannot be confirmed. The situation is under control and ongoing.
