Leslie police arrested two other men
John Leslie
Mr Leslie was recently sacked from This Morning
Police investigating allegations of sexual assault made against television presenter John Leslie arrested two other men in connection with their inquiries, it has emerged.

Mr Leslie, 37, was arrested on Thursday after allegations made by three women, understood to be one of rape and two of indecent assault.

A statement issued by Mr Leslie's solicitors said the presenter denied all of the allegations against him.

A 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with one of the allegations on the same day, police have revealed.

A third man was also arrested but released without any further action being taken against him.

Bailed

A Scotland Yard spokesman said on Saturday: "A 44-year-old man was arrested in west London in connection with an allegation of indecent assault made by Woman B.

"The alleged incident took place in south-west London in 1997.

"The man was taken to a London police station and bailed to return on a date in January to be confirmed.

"On the same day, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Edinburgh in connection with same allegation. He was taken to a police station but later released with no further action taken."

Mr Leslie was interviewed at Belgravia Police Station, central London, on Thursday, and was bailed to return in January.

Sacked

An earlier statement issued by Mr Leslie's solicitors said: "He strenuously denies all these allegations and intends to continue to do so, but he will assist the police with their inquiries."

Mr Leslie had initially contacted police about allegations made against him at the end of October.

The presenter was dismissed by This Morning producers Granada who said he had failed to respond to allegations about his private life.

His sacking followed allegations in the press arising from Ulrika Jonsson's autobiography - although she herself had not named him.

Mr Leslie has maintained a public silence since the flurry of allegations about his private life began.

Mr Leslie - who started his high-profile television career with Blue Peter - co-presented This Morning with Fern Britton after replacing Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan in 2001.

He had first been subject to the full, tabloid glare when he was dating Catherine Zeta Jones in the early 1990s.
