In pictures: New York remembers Britons
British police officers were at the service after marching down Fifth Avenue with 300 other officers
The service mourned the victims' passing and paid tribute to the courage of the bereaved
Jack Straw read a message of condolence from the Queen, which praised the spirit of New York
Mourners were moved by the Queen's message
The congregation was told the victims had been killed "for being ordinary, free people"
After the service, there was an outburst of emotion
