Prince's love makes Camilla 'glamorous'
Camilla Parker Bowles
Mrs Parker Bowles looks 'marvellous'
Being in love with the Prince of Wales has made Camilla Parker Bowles so glamorous she "makes your jaw drop", according to American Vogue.

The magazine's revered editor, Anna Wintour, compares the allure of the prince's companion to that of pop star Madonna.

Ms Wintour, one of the most influential voices in international fashion, said she "couldn't take her eyes off her" when she met Mrs Parker Bowles at a charity benefit at Somerset House hosted by multi-millionaire philanthropist Lord Jacob Rothschild.

She writes in this month's edition of Vogue: "What Madonna and Camilla had in common was glamour - that 'something that makes your jaw drop, that makes you gasp', as (Gucci designer) Tom Ford would have it."

Mrs Parker Bowles was photographed at the dinner wearing an off-the-shoulder evening gown by designer Robinson Valentine.

'Awesome'

Ms Wintour continues: "Camilla Parker Bowles was seated at my table. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

"She looked marvellous, and I thought, 'What a difference being in love makes to a woman's appearance'."

She added: "Glamour, a matter of self-belief and the alignment of certain mysterious stars, is an angel that practically any woman can summon."

Ms Wintour said she saw Madonna perform onstage in the London production of Up For Grabs during the same visit to England.

She joined in the "wild applause" which followed the star's West End performance.

"Madonna, in a white trench coat and grey pants, looked simply amazing, and she projected an awesome presence that never faltered during the performance, not even when she was heckled," Ms Wintour's editorial said.
