Kate Moss: "Very happy" about becoming a mother

Supermodel Kate Moss and her publisher boyfriend, Jefferson Hack, are expecting their first baby.

Mr Hack's father Douglas has confirmed the 28-year-old is three months pregnant.

"It is great news and we are delighted," he said.

"We found out on Wednesday when we were having drinks with them at the Savoy.

"They are very happy about it and they are very happy together."

Mr Hack added he had not known the couple, who have been together 18 months, were trying for a baby.

'No marriage plans'

"They have kept everything under wraps for the past three months," he said.

The model and the 30-year-old publisher of style magazine Dazed & Confused have no plans to marry, Mr Hack concluded.

The Sun newspaper reported that Ms Moss had attended London's Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth for her 12-week scan on Wednesday afternoon, and all was well.

Ms Moss, who grew up in Croydon, south London, is currently the face of Rimmel cosmetics.

She made her most recent public appearance at the theatre on Monday evening when she attended the first night of Dr Faustus at London's Young Vic.

Ms Moss was discovered at the age of 14 and went on to become one of the world's most successful models.

But the party lifestyle took its toll and in 1998 she checked into The Priory clinic in Roehampton, south west London, suffering from exhaustion.

Ms Moss' previous boyfriends include movie star Johnny Depp and Antony Langdon, guitarist with the pop group Spacehog.
