Memorial service for Margaret
The hearse containing Princess Margaret's coffin
The Princess's funeral was at Windsor Castle
A service is to be held in memory of Princess Margaret at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace has said.

The Queen and other members of the Royal Family will attend the service.

Friends, charity representatives, regiments and other organisations associated with the Princess are also expected to be present.

The service will be held on 19 April at 1200GMT.

Private funeral

The Princess died on 9 February at the age of 71, after suffering a stroke which led to heart problems.

Her private funeral at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle was attended by about 450 of the princess's friends, family and staff on 15 February.

The service was conducted by the Dean of Windsor with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

A piper of the Royal Highland Fusiliers played a lament - The Desperate Struggle of the Bird - chosen by Princess Margaret's daughter Lady Sarah Chatto as the coffin was carried to the waiting hearse outside.

The princess's body was then taken to Slough Crematorium.

She had said she wanted to be cremated in a simple, private service, at which no friends or family would be present.
