Court delivers verdicts
While Lee Bowyer was cleared of all charges, Jonathan Woodgate was sentenced to 100 hours community service for his affray conviction. One of Woodgate's friends, Paul Clifford was sentenced to six years for causing grievous bodily harm to Sarfraz Najeib. Another of Woodgate's friends, Neale Caveney, was found guilty of affray.

Reaction to the verdicts
The jury took 22 hours to deliver their verdicts following a trial lasting nine weeks. The defendants had denied all the charges. The family of Sarfraz Najeib say he is shattered by the verdicts which were a "tremendous disappointment". There were brief statements outside the court from Lee Bowyer and from the solicitor acting for Jonathan Woodgate.
