A memorial service has been held at Westminster Abbey to remember the Britons who died in the 11 September terror attacks on the United States.

![]() The Union Jack and the Star Spangled Banner were laid on the altar at the beginning of the service
![]() Actress Dame Judi Dench was asked to read a poem
![]() Members of the New York Fire Service took part in the moving tribute
![]() Prime Minister Tony Blair gave a reading
![]() Some 800 relatives and friends of the 80 Britons who died in the World Trade Center attended the service
![]() The Archbishop of Canterbury said there were "no adequate words for the evil and shameful deeds of 11 September"
![]() The Queen met families of the victims of the terror attacks
