attack scene
Police are still searching the scene
Detectives investigating the death of a security guard have arrested three men.

Stanley Twyman, 61, was killed while working for SPS Security at Atlas Caravans in Hull.

He died after being attacked by raiders and suffered serious head injuries.

Humberside Police said three men, aged 19, 20 and 21, already under arrest in connection with two other robberies, would also be questioned about the death.

Stanley Twyman: Suffered head injuries
Mr Twyman, a father-of-three and former RAF servicemen, was seriously injured in the raid at the premises in the Dairycoates estate on 18 September.

He had been viciously beaten and left with critical head injuries. Another security man, aged 62, was also hurt.

Both were taken to the Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment but Mr Twyman died.

Police said they were still carrying out a detailed search of the area.

Brandished handguns

Teams of officers are hunting for any abandoned property left in the area including bloodstained clothing and a small, lockable petty-cash tin stolen in the robbery.

The three men arrested are also being questioned about a robbery at the Esso service station, Kingston Road, Willerby, near Hull on 16 September and a raid on the Bethune Avenue Estate Office, Boothferry, on 18 September.

In the robberies at Atlas Caravans and the estate office, offenders brandished handguns.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "Although arrests have been made, detectives continue to appeal for information about the events leading up to the death of Mr Twyman."
