Four men remanded after drugs raid
Ecstasy tablets
The tablets seized are believed to be ecstasy
Four men have appeared in court after police and customs officers seized drugs worth about £12m during a raid on a warehouse.

The men have each been charged with conspiring to supply and conspiring to import ecstasy after the raid at a business park in the Cotswolds on Monday.

David Fairbairn, 45, of Wheatley, Oxford, Neil Higgins, 41, of Shipton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire, Terry Clarkin, 30, of Falling Bostel, Germany, and Philip Norris, 30, of Springe, Germany, were remanded in custody by Cheltenham magistrates on Wednesday.

Police said they seized up to a million tablets, thought to be ecstasy, from a warehouse at Rissington Business Park in Upper Rissington, near Stow-on-the-Wold.

Customs officials said the 225 kilogram haul is believed to be the largest quantity of ecstasy ever seized in this country.

At Wednesday's hearing, no applications for bail were made. The men will appear before a judge at Gloucester Crown Court on September 4.
