Police hunt for 'Batman' attacker
Map of Redditch
A man is in hospital with serious facial injuries after he was attacked by a party reveller dressed as Batman.

West Mercia Police say the victim, who is in his 30s, suffered serious facial injuries during a brawl at a fancy dress party at the Ventura Club in Redditch, Worcestershire.

A man dressed as the superhero is believed to have been the main offender during the fracas.

The unnamed victim is recovering in hospital with suspected fractures to his nose and eye sockets and severe bruising to his face and mouth.

'Appalling injuries

His condition was described as "comfortable".

Detective Inspector Paul Knight said officers were anxious to speak to anyone who went to the party or who knew anyone who planned to dress up as Batman.

He said: "Witnesses have stated the main offender appeared to be wearing a Batman costume.

"This man (the victim) has suffered appalling injuries and at this stage has been unable to give a full account of what has happened due to his injuries."

A police spokeswoman said officers did not know what the victim was wearing at the time of the incident.
