Serial killer 'pure speculation' say Hull police

An arm found by a member of the public sparked a massive search

The policeman in charge of three murder investigations in Leeds says there is no evidence yet to link them.

Chief Inspector Paul Davison: concerned about prostitutes' safety
In the last year, three prostitutes from Hull have died but Detective Chief Inspector Paul Davison said talk of a serial killer was "pure speculation."

"The only obvious and undisputed link at the moment is that these three women were all prostitutes and drug users operating in Hull and it is the people associated with prostitution and drugs that may hold the key to the deaths," he said.

The latest woman to be murdered is Natalie Clubb, a 25-year-old prostitute who went missing in May.

Her body was cut up and parts were found over the last few days at a pumping station in Sutton-on-Hull.

On Saturday Mr Davison repeated earlier warnings to prostitutes who were continuing to operate in Hull.

"Humberside police are aware of the fear this recent death has caused amongst the prostitutes operating in Hull," he said.

"This fear is founded bearing in mind the potentially dangerous situations that prostitutes put themselves into every time they indulge in such activities."

Natalie Clubb is the third prostitute whose murder is being investigated by Humberside police.

Samantha Class was killed last October and her badly beaten and strangled body was found on the banks of the river Humber.

Hayley Morgan died in May, of a heroin overdose, but police say there are still many unanswered questions surrounding her death and the case is by no means closed.

Natalie Clubb was also a heroin user and was known to be a friend of Hayley Morgan.
