Woman held after 'Beckham incident'
Posh and Becks
The couple's post is thought to have been taken
A woman who is thought to have taken post from the home of David and Victoria Beckham has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

The 37-year-old, who has not been named, is in hospital.

Cheshire Police have confirmed they arrested a woman alleged to have entered the hallway of a flat in Alderley Edge.

She is suspected to have removed mail addressed to the Manchester United player and his pop star wife Victoria.

Taxi from Edinburgh

A police spokesperson also confirmed that the woman had travelled from Edinburgh to Cheshire in a taxi.

The taxi is thought to have dropped her off at the gates to a mansion which contains the Beckhams' flat.

She was later stopped by police officers in Wilmslow two miles away.

It is understood she had letters addressed to the Beckhams in her possession.

The woman has been detained in Macclesfield Hospital under the Mental Health Act following the incident on Sunday.

No charges will follow.
