War veteran Walter Chamberlain
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with a racist attack on a war veteran.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and racially-motivated grievous bodily harm.

He is accused of attacking 76-year-old pensioner Walter Chamberlain on 21 April as he walked home from watching a rugby match in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

The boy, from the Westwood area of Oldham, is due to appear magistrates in the town on Thursday.

He was arrested earlier this week with three other teenagers.

Two were released without charge, the other was released on police bail.
