Starving baby found near mother's body
Greater Manchester police
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances
A baby girl is recovering after surviving for two days without food or water by the body of her dead mother.

Natasha Read, who is 15 months old, was found by her grandfather on Saturday afternoon.

Hearing her screams from inside the house he smashed in a kitchen window and rescued the terrified baby.

Dehydration

Her mother, Joanne, 26, was found dead in a bedroom of the family home in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

A post mortem is due to be held on Monday.

Natasha was treated for severe dehydration and is now being cared for by relatives.
