MPs approved the Digital Economy Bill while voicing anger at the speed it passed through Parliament.

Many disagreed with the fact that the bill was dealt with during the 'wash-up' - Parliament's last few days before the General Election.

It seeks to tackle online piracy and illegal file-sharing by enforcing internet bans for persistent offenders.

Under the terms of the bill, internet service providers would send letters to any of their subscribers linked to alleged infringements.

This video contains highlights of the House of Commons debate that lasted for 2 hours and 25 minutes.
