Microsoft offers browser choice to Internet Explorer

Rory Cellan-Jones installs a new internet browser after Microsoft agrees to offer alternatives to Internet Explorer.

Windows users in Europe are being offered the choice as part of a deal Microsoft struck with the European Commission.

The latest Microsoft update installs directions to find browsers offered by competitors, such as Mozilla's Firefox, Apple's Safari, Opera and Google Chrome.

The notice appears when users boot up their computer and is left as a link on their desktop.
