European researchers have designed robots that react to one another in ways that resemble the actions of mammals.

The University of Southampton's Klaus-Peter Zauner heads a project to develop robots that learn tasks and carry them out by communicating with one another.

Christos Ampatzis of the European Commission-sponsored Swarm-bots project has helped build robots that act together to carry objects and form building blocks.
