The dancing robots' ball

A robot tries out new dance moves on a robot designed for manoeuvring around tight spaces.

Designer Eric Silverman says Atak dances in a similar manner to humans, by reacting to the nature of music being played.

It has been displayed at an exhibition in Winchester alongside a another robot that also adapts to its environment.

Scientists have built a robot to travel around dangerous buildings and draw up a 3D map of the area.

Richard Evans from Roke Manor Research says Dora is a prototype developed by the lab.

He says it could help pave the way to a new breed of rescue robots.
