Probe is launched as body found
Police in Cornwall have sealed off an area of Penzance after the discovery of a man's body.

It was discovered in a river in the Alverton area of the town by a member of the public on Friday morning.

An ambulance was called and the man, who is thought to be local and in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are trying to trace his next of kin and CID and scenes of crime officers have sealed off the area where the body was found.

A forensic examination is being carried out and 10 officers are involved in the operation.

Police have said the circumstances surrounding the death are still unclear.
