About Bill Thompson
Computer consultant Bill Thompson
Bill Thompson has been hanging around the internet for longer than he cares to remember.

He has been online since 1986, when having an e-mail address on your business card was a radical thing.

He has worked as a journalist and in the computing industry for many years.

A former programmer and technical trainer, he now writes and talks about the internet and its implications, as well as advising people how to use the network effectively.

Bill was the first head of new media at The Guardian newspaper and managed the Nexus online think-tank.

He writes regularly for Internet Magazine as well as BBC WebWise.

He is also appears weekly on Go Digital on the BBC World Service.
