The government says the foot and mouth crisis is now under control. But as the culling of thousands of animals continues across the UK, do the authorities really have it under control?

Farmers across the UK say they have been ruined by the outbreak but are split on the issue of vaccination as a way to prevent further spread of the disease.

The tourism industry say they are also in crisis and in areas like Cumbria they fear for their summer season. The major test for the tourist trade was the Easter break, which proved less damaging than feared for many.

But how will the UK's tourism industry fare in the long term and how does the industry combat the negative image abroad? And the concern for public health and the environment is rising. What are the risks from the disposal processes?

For this live webcast we were joined by a panel of guests from the farming and tourism industries and by members of the local community to find out how the area as a whole is dealing with the crisis.
