Scrappage: Are you getting a new car?

Cars in a showroom

The number of cars built for the UK market reached a near five-year high in August as the car scrappage scheme boosted sales. Have you taken advantage of the scheme?

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has called for the scheme, which was introduced in May, to be extended, saying recovery was still fragile.

Scrappage schemes in the US and parts of Europe have also been a success in boosting car sales, with Russia set to introduce its own car scrappage initiative.

Have you bought a new car through a scrappage scheme where you live? Are you in Russia? Are you planning to take advantage of the car scrappage scheme? Send us your comments using the form below.

If you have bought a new car with a scrappage scheme why not send us a picture? Send your pictures to yourpics@bbc.co.uk or text them to 61124. If you have a large file you can upload here.
