It is feared that the earthquake which struck China on Monday has killed nearly 50,000 people. The 7.8 magnitude quake struck the south-western Sichuan province and was felt as far away as Beijing and the Thai capital, Bangkok.

Do you have family or friends living in or near the affected areas? Are you in China? Have you seen the rescue operation? If so, you can add your comments to the map using the button at the foot of the page.

The map is part of a trial to find new ways of showing comments sent in by our readers.
