High profile divorces with record payouts have prompted a growth in pre-nuptial agreements.

Last year more than two-thirds of lawyers saw an increase in demand for pre-nuptial agreements, said business advisers Grant Thornton's.

Many lawyers attributed this increase to the publicity surrounding a number of high profile divorce cases.

Celebrity couples with "pre-nups" have also fuelled the demand for the agreements.
