MEET THE PANEL
Name: Paul Hubball
Current voting intention: Royal
As a socialist, I will vote mainly along party lines but there is no doubt that Segolene Royal is the best candidate in the race.
Politics in this country has been too male-dominated for many years. A woman president may help change attitudes towards women's role in French society.
I'll admit, she has not run the best campaign, but she is a brilliant woman, a good speaker and has worked hard to get where she is.
Yes, she has made gaffes, but that is all part of politics and happens when you are on the frontline in such a high-profile campaign. Besides, our current president has made his own fair share of gaffes.
She also hasn't been helped by other senior members of her own party, who have sought to undermine her repeatedly, particularly in the latter stages of the campaign.
Mr Sarkozy, on the other hand, has the full advantage of his party's machine behind him.
The big issue for French voters in this election is fear - fear of violence, fear of unemployment, fear of not having enough money.
Young people in my region, Picardie, just can't get enough jobs. Segolene has addressed this through proposing education for the jobless. This is the only solution.
Another big issue is Europe, but she has been unable to address it because national issues have ruled in this campaign.
I think it will be a close-run thing on Sunday.
I am hopeful, however, that Segolene Royal will proceed to the second round and a run-off against Nicolas Sarkozy.
