Depending on where you live, World Peace Day might have a different meaning for you.

In Britain or France, only 70 year old men and women would remember things about the Second World War. Here in Iran, every 25 year old remembers the air raid sirens.
The question is, will today's children grow old without experiencing war? I don't think so.
I don't see the current situation in the world in favour of peace, in its literal meaning.
Terror, threats, force and insults are used not just by some politicians, but also by ordinary people in many societies.

PEACE BLOGGERS

I don't like to see only the dark side of things and to say there's no hope.
When I look around me, I see many friends who oppose wars, or who work in NGOs campaigning against domestic violence. They argue that military action is not a long term solution for any crisis.
But I think this anti-war culture can only be realistic when the value of violence is diminished; when schoolchildren stop being told that historical wars and bloodshed are sources of pride for a nation.
There will only be peace when children are taught that in order to achieve peace you should not start a war; that establishing peace is not the same as trying to win a war.
Today, while memories of the eight-year war are still in the minds of Iranian people; we feel the threat of another war looming.

World Peace day ... is a beautiful wish
|
The threat of another battle between politicians who don't know how to talk to each other; those who divide the world into "with me" and "against me".
And in this battle between the big men who are trying to prove they are right; the victims are ordinary people.
The victims are those children who are living with fear. Inevitably, violence will be part of their lives.
World Peace Day is an important and symbolic day. A symbol that unfortunately does not represent the real world. But it is at least a beautiful wish.
Many believe that peace will not be established in the world because of human nature.
There are also people who say it's important to try to achieve peace - even if it's not possible.
They work for days and years to make peace happen.
From Iran, I congratulate all of them on World Peace Day.
