Your questions on bird flu
Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson
What do you want to ask British Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson?

Sir Liam has warned that bird flu could potentially kill 50,000 people in the UK.

But he said that this would require the flu to mutate into a virus infectious to humans, and he does not expect that to happen this winter.

Doctors say the more immediate risk is of ordinary flu, which kills 12,000 people in a normal year and they are urging people in high-risk groups to have their winter flu jab.

Are you worried about the threat of bird flu? What do you need to know about bird flu? What should we watch out for? What would you like to see the government doing?

Sir Liam will be answering your questions on this page later this week.
