Talking Point Would you avoid GM food?
Do you bother to look at labels on your food to see exactly what goes into what you eat?
If you do, do the words genetically-modified (GM) foods fill you with fear and have you wheeling your trolley down the organic aisle of the supermarket?
Fears about GM food have grown so strong in the UK that one campaign coalition is urging a five-year freeze on the commercial growing of GM crops.
Campaigners also want the patenting of genetic resources for food and farm crops.
The UK's Shadow Trade Secretary John Redwood has published a draft bill calling for clearer labelling of GM foods.
Do you care about what you eat, or is it all just another food scare?
Prime Minister Tony Blair has tried to calm the situation by stating that he is happy to eat GM foods.
"To rule out GM food altogether, to impose some ban would be extremely foolish," he said.
But Malcom Walker of Iceland supermarket chain thinks the proposed five-year freeze makes sound business sense and is something consumers want.
He says the company has had "an overwhelmingly positive response from its customers" over its policy.
What do you think - should GM food be more clearly labelled?
